In 1989, a radio personality asked Rocío if she would be interested in conducting a radio program after hearing her sing at a talent show. Rocío took advantage of this opportunity and went on to work for a year as the cohost of a radio program called "Vida Nueva" (new life). Rocío was later able to combine her voice training with what she learned at the radio station to work as a voice-over artist. As a professional Spanish translator living in the United States, her voice has been chosen for localized products with speech components such as corporate CDs, training tapes, and voice-recognition prompts.
