Rocío has close to two decades of experience translating Technical Documents and Medical Materials from English and French into Spanish. She has translated numerous data sheets, user manuals, and specifications sheets for hardware and software products. Her main fields of specialization are electronics, electric systems, telecom and network equipment, security systems, computer systems and peripherals, as well as Web-enabled applications and documentation for applications run on Windows, Macintosh, Unix, and the Palm OS. Medical documents include DFUs, support materials for medical instrumentation, documents for patient education, and research reports.
Rocío also has experience translating marketing materials, educational media, HR literature, and scripts for educational videos and CD ROMs. On many occasions, she has been chosen as the lead linguist for large projects, as well as a contract project manager in as well as ex-house.
Rocío´s experience is backed by translation studies at the graduate level at the prestigious Monterey Institute of International Studies, and a solid background in applied linguistics. Certified by the American Translators Association.
She is proficient in the use of Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools such as Trados®, SDLX®, PoEdit, and IBM Translation Manager®.
