As a technical translator, it was easy for Rocío to start working in software localization in 1995, when she was an in-house contractor for what came to be known as Lucent Technologies ILT Solutions.

It was there that she had the opportunity to learn the basics of the localization process, from internationalization to compiling and final testing of localized products.

Rocío has since been involved in every aspect of the localization process for many programs on different operating systems. In the past 8 years, she has also had the opportunity to be increasingly involved in the localization of web sites and web-enabled applications.

She's been responsible for testing the localized Spanish version of GUIs, help, tutorials and messages for several products, among others: Wildfire (a voice activated assistant from Wildfire Communications, Inc.), Trimble Navigational Systems (GPLoad, GPSurvey, GPTrans, WAVE, PLAN); Kodak Hawk, Kodak Title Manager, Kodak Author; AMPConnect; PeopleSoft’s Red Pepper; MusicMatch, CP EventCenter, CP WebMail; Esker Tunplus, IDD System, VISA software, Sony products, Baxter applications, and Transparent language software. Currently, Rocío is constantly sought after as a consultant and trainer in this field.
