Working
for one of the largest providers of Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI)
for close to five years gave Rocío the chance to acquire a lot of
experience in the field of community interpreting.
She
started her career in this field as a part-time over-the-phone
English-Spanish interpreter in 1995 and quickly became involved in
several aspects of the field. After a short time as an interpreter, she
was invited to participate in the development of interpreter training
materials, quality control procedures and standards, and applicant
screening methods. During the last 2 years of her work for the OPI
provider, Rocío worked as a recruiting manager and represented the
company at universities and professional events.
Rocío is
no longer involved in the interpreting field.
